Fiestaware pottery is still made today and can be found at various retail outlets. However, the collectible side of fiestaware pottery is focused on Fiesta made before 1959.

was identified the mark of "Genuine."

3. The circle spacing on genuine Fiestaware pottery should progressively narrow.

History of Homer Laughlin China Company and Fiestaware
Can you believe that fiestaware came into being based on a contest. Well, it's true. In 1871, the city of East Liverpool, Ohio held a competition for anyone who could build a factory that product whiteware dinnerware. Two brother entered into the contest, Homer and Shakespeare Laughlin, and they won. As a result $5,000 was awarded to they and the Homer Laughlin China Company was born. Between the years of 1871 and 1936, Homer Laughlin had many major milestones, including becoming the first U.S. ceramic manufacturer to produce American china in the mid-1880s.

Then during the depression Homer Laughlin China Company created a simple and colorful dinnerware set that was very affordable. Fiestaware was born 1936 and quickly became popular. Today Fiestaware is available in a variety of colors and is the most collected dinnerware in America.
